Primary Betting Outcome Types on Stake
Stake presents a broad range of betting markets across cricket, football, kabaddi, and other sports, each structured around specific outcome categories. The sections below cover the most common outcome types available on the platform.
Moneyline (Match Winner)
The Moneyline market requires you to select which team or individual will win the match outright. There are two possible results: your selection wins, or it does not. In markets with a draw option (such as football), a third outcome is available. The bet is settled immediately after the final result of the event is confirmed.
Handicap Betting
Handicap markets apply a virtual advantage or disadvantage to one side before the event starts. For example, a team might start at -1.5 goals, meaning they must win by at least 2 goals for the bet to win. A loss or win by less than the handicap margin results in the bet losing. This market is common in cricket run lines and football handicaps.
Over/Under (Totals)
Over/Under markets focus on whether a specific statistical total will exceed or fall below a set line. In cricket, this might be the total runs scored in an innings. In football, it is typically the total goals in the match. If you back “Over 2.5 goals” and the match ends 2-1, the bet loses. If it ends 3-0, the bet wins.
Both Teams to Score (BTTS)
This market applies to football and asks whether both teams will score at least one goal during the match. There are two outcomes: Yes (both teams score) or No (at least one team finishes without a goal). The final scoreline does not affect the result beyond each team’s goal status. A 1-1 draw means BTTS Yes wins; a 1-0 result means BTTS No wins.
Outright (Tournament Winner)
Outright betting covers long-term markets, such as which team will win the IPL, ICC World Cup, or another tournament. These bets are placed before or during the competition and are settled only after the tournament concludes. If your selected team is eliminated before the final, the bet loses. Odds for outright markets are typically higher due to the number of competing outcomes.
